Materials

We are currently expanding the application of catalytic methodologies developed in our group beyond the synthesis of small molecules to synthesize new materials. Reversible reactions that are able to form strong covalent bonds are particularly interesting since they can enable the formation of extremely robust materials, as well as their depolymerization. In this context, single bond metathesis reactions have already proved exceptionally powerful for the synthesis and depolymerization of porous poly(aryl thioether)s that are extremely robust and present promising applications in different environmentally relevant fields (metal capture, metal sensing and heterogeneous catalysis).
